Default Question about a dual smite in CoF

I just ran the standard 600 spellbreaker monk and a smite monk with holy wrath, ret, etc in CoF. When I ran it with my friend as the 600 he died everytime because SB went down before everything was killed and then the attacks were not being healed enough from spirit bond. He would get hit for well over 100 sometimes and spiritbond only heals for 94 I believe. We tried to echo SB but to no avail. I did not run it in hard mode and was wondering if that was the main reason we failed or if anyone else could enlighten me with another reason(s). Thanks in advance.

its actually easier in hard mode, in normal mode there is not enough damage, plus was your friend wearing the correct lowest AL armor?

To make it easier, can you post the builds you two were using?

If you friend is getting hit for over 100, more than likely he forgot to recast protective spirit. He maybe isn't watching his enchantments, or just isn't using the right skills.

Hard mode makes 600/smite easier. They attack faster which mean they die sooner and you have more energy as well. As for getting hit over 100 with PS up he would need to have 1000 hit points for that to happen so he messed something up or got something interrupted/stripped

CoF NM is much harder than in HM. The enemies don't attack as fast and so die slower and the 600 can struggle for energy.

As said previously the 600 shouldn't be getting hit for over 100 as prot spirit prevents that kind of damage. The 600 should also keep up shield of absorbtion as much as possible as this will help when getting hit by normal attacks that won't trigger spirit bond. Also spell breaker doesn't need to be kept up all the time.

I ran CoF on NM for a guildie and had mending cast on me and it did help but if you're just running for fun or profit then you should definitely run it on HM. I'm sure you'll find it much easier.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the responses, I believe it was probably because we didn't do it in hard mode, we both have not yet beaten EotN so we can't until that is done. If you look on PvXwiki its the Farming build "Build:Team - 600/Smite CoF" I believe it was probably due to the fact he wasnt getting hit fast enough so they didn't die faster. And I have one more related question, if we were to run this same build in UW in hard mode would it even be worth it? I keep hearing that the price of the scroll to go down there and the lack of decent drops isn't really worth it anymore. Thanks again for the quick responses!

I do UW 600/smite and you do get your entry money back and maybe a k or 2 as well. I average maybe an ecto per run so no the drops aren't great. I find FoW more profitable, better drops plus maybe 3-4 obsi shards a run.

When trying to 600/smite in NM. I take Frenzy, which helps.
Things still attack fairly slowly though, so it's never really ideal to 600 in NM...

he important things to remember about 600/smite -
1. Apart from Uw and fow - 600/smite is best in hm due to having to take over 60 dmg for sprit bond to work.
2. NM casters wont do over 30 dmg usually ( even with frenzy ) so you end up dying thru spirit bond failing.
3. 600 needs lowest AR going - either starter armor or basic ar 15 armor.
4. 600 needs to keep skills up
5. Generally the 600 wont use any sup runes except vigor.

Theres probably more but others will offer advice in their abscence.
Cof hm is actually easier as stated coz of the foes hitting harder and faster - i never tried cof nm but from general 600/smite exp i know it wudnt work so i tried hm and i didnt expect it to be that simple - was expecting huge probs for first time try.

Uw/Fow can be done in both hm and nm - the foes there do hit hard in both modes.
Scrolls wise - with favor you pay 1k entry fee per team and scrolls can usually be picked up in favor cheaply - its when no favor they go up in price ( also scrolls can drop in hm from bosses ).

Ps. in uw regardless of mode the coldfires normal attack wont always trigger spirit bond as its low dmg and even taking them down can take a while if just 600/smite.
